LEFTHAND, Colo. — A truck belonging to a Lefthand Fire Protection District's volunteer firefighter has been recovered about a mile from where it was taken Monday night, according to Boulder police.

The firefighter, whose name wasn't released, found the truck — equipped with an emergency light bar, firefighting equipment inside and Colorado firefighter license plates — in the 4900 block of Moorhead Avenue about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, said detective Sgt. Melissa Kampf.

Nothing was missing, and the keys were found on the floor of the truck, Kampf said.

The silver 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 was taken about 8 p.m. Monday while the firefighter was using the bathroom at a party in the 400 block of Manhattan Drive, Kampf said. He left the keys on a table and when he returned, the keys were gone and so was his truck, she said.
